49 states have concealed carry provisions for law-abiding citizens which recognize the right to carry a defensive firearms for personal and family protection. That means 49 states have some form of right to carry law in force.

Illinois is the last and only state to prohibit carrying a firearm for personal protection, plus it is a felony to do so.
